Wrong.

"Lamont Cranston" was just an alias. His real name was "Kent Allard". (This is a micro-trivium that you either know, or don't know. You can't reason it out or guess.)

Furthermore, The Shadow did not have the ability to become invisible. What he had was "the power to cloud men's minds so that they did not see him." That is quite a different talent, when you think about it. For example, do you really see the person who buses your dishes in a fine restaurant?

The original question was a bit of misdirection such as he might've employed.

Yes, even tho I had to run through names like Thurgood Marshall, Thurston Howell the 3rd, I did finally hit my index card on LAMONT CRANSTON.

Ahhh I love the Ink spots and My Prayer is my fav song of their's...I remember "If I didn't care"

Those songs were on so often in our home, even though I was born way after 1940.. I can sing along to all of them.

Maybe that's why I grew up loving Motown and rythem and blues.

You all should go on "jeapordy" it would make for a good show...The Romie's take on Everyone Else" :))

I worked with someone who went on there and won a bunch of money and was in the final rounds with that really smart guy..and then she blew it on a question even I knew the answer to....it happens to the best of them.

Beagle, I thought it was going to end up being "My Prayer", but I like "If I Didn't Care" and it has been used in commercials even within the past few years.

Not old enough for Ink Spots,

PatricianPat guessed:
>"If I didn't care?"

Bingo!

I'd posted both answers earlier but you had to sort through the sentences word-by-word to find "The Ink Spots".

Not so the song titles (also posted) with all the words in order They included, in addition to "If I Didn't Care", "Don't Get Around Much Any More", "Sorry" and many others.

Imagine... Nineteen million copies in an era when the US population was roughly 200 million. Nearly everyone who owned a record player must've bought a copy! See link:

The Ink Spots

On that note, "I'm Through" say?
