Yes, but his mighty presence is there a lot more than that, so it's okay.
I caught a glimpse of him while watching the Tony Awards the other day. Not in person but there was a clip of him in a play saying, I believe, "I want your soul!" Indeed.

He doesn't die in There Will Be Blood! He's not in it much, but at least he doesn't die!
I saw a preview for a movie called Miss Pettigrew ...something or other. He's in that, too, and it doesn't look like the dying sort of role. He seems willing to take the smaller supporting roles, so that must be why he works so much.

Now, it's bad enough that Hinds dies is most of his roles. *weeps*
But I saw the trailer for In Bruges, and not only does he die in the movie, he dies in the TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
